been a while

i realize that i haven't updated this blog for a while now. most people during the summer months are away from the computer because they are doing summer like things. camping, the lake or holiday. i was just away because i've been working. my holiday is coming just around the corner. i'm going to india in a week and a half. a friend i made during my time there is getting married. i honestly didn't think i would be going back so quickly. however, i'm excited. time off work right before the busiest time in the year. hopefully some good time of reflection, reconnecting, cultural awareness and travel. i'll leave you with two pictures. one, a good fall prairie sunset.

the other a shot of the tracks near where i live, sort of a reflective shot, even though it is a shot of a straight portion of the tracks there is a bend near by. i feel like i'm headed to that bend, so we'll see.

so it has been a while

it has been a few months since i've updated this thing so here is a snapshot of the last bit. i went to calgary twice, once for a friends wedding and once for work, meetings. the first trip, road trip, catching up with friends and an enthralling afternoon at the calgary zoo! the second trip yielded no pictures as my sd card messed up when i was at the top of the gondola.

the next bit, work and more work, mostly enjoyable, which is lovely.

i went home to mb to visit family this last weekend, good food, waffles with white sauce! so good to be out of the city! also went to the forks for canada day with family. short but sweet trip.

right now, enjoying the quite, lovely breeze and homemade iced green tea.

the store and other things

I've been at the store for just over a month and it is going well. I'm enjoying the new pace of life. Tis faster then what I've been accustomed to.
Learning to ride my bike to work, easier said then done but healthy and good for me!
Just got a new haircut and have the shortest hair since 2000. Its nice to have something new for spring, which I think is here for good... just had a good snow last week.

newness

i splurged the other day and bought some tulips. this is a flower that reminds me of spring, the beauty of waking up after winter and the freshness of new life.

on the subject of new things. i have a new job. i am an assistant manager for ten thousand villages, which is a fair trade store. quite excited about this. another new opportunity is to take pictures of babies at church this coming week. there have been quite a few new births and so they are celebrating another woman and i are to take pictures, here's hoping that they turn out well.

He is risen, He is risen indeed!
