End of month 4

As I reflect on the past couple months I realize that I have experienced many things. Situations and experiences that I wanted to go through and some that I did not expect. I am thankful, yet anxious and somewhat restless. It could be because of what is yet to come, or because the end is in sight. I have come to the conclusion that I am tired and in a way ready to go home. Now this is not a good attitude when you have 5 more weeks lefts, when you need to be excited about what you are doing and the people that you are leading. It is their first week and they deserve the best week possible. I desire endless energy and amounts of wisdom and strength that I would not know what to do with. So in all this please pray. Attitude is very crucial at this time and I do believe that I am lacking.

Work continues and much sweat is being poured into the houses here in the Bayou. Progress is being made. This is exciting and many people are able to once again have livable houses. I have equated MDS to summer camp. You have a group that comes in every week you house them, feed them, provide them with activties during the day (work) and then say good bye at the end of the week and then on Sunday the next group comes again. Now guaranteed we do not have to watch them every moment of the day as you do with children but the same mental, physical and sometimes emotional energy is needed. It is when these overwhelm that an evening on the beach watching the waves roll in and wash out, the sun setting with a slight breeze with a fire and sleeping on the beach is something that just seems to be the right medicine. I have yet to take that medicine. May God's peace and assurance reign.

On another note, Canada Day is coming and since us Canadians are in the minority we feel that we especially need to celebrate the day, any suggestions? Living in another country has made me just a tad bit more patriotic towards my country. I have heard many Canadian jokes and have been asked to repeat many words as our accent of the north is strange to many a American.

Many stories and thoughts will be shared, in time.

Hey Nicole! It sounds like you are having a good time there. Sorry it has been a while since I have gotten in contact with you. Sorry to hear about your grandparents. I know that they will be truly missed but they are in an awesome place right now. Hey I was wondering if you were working with one of the guys in our care group. His name is Andy Bushman. Well, I hope you have fun and that you have a safe trip back home.

I will pray for you as you TREK this fall.
Sorry to hear of your grief when your loved grandparents died so close to each other. You have had some interesting journeys so far and many more to come.
I think that your photo documentation of them is really inspiring. There must be a calendar or book coming.

I love the current posted beachchairs and the beach photos. Can I get copies for my wall?

bye for now,
my prayers go with you,
Susan
