The first weeks in India

Well I apoligize for not updating you all about India thus far. Internet has been something that we have not had a lot of. We now have internet in the apt and so as long as the electricity stays on... One of the many things in getting used to living in a new country. The last couple weeks have been full of Hindi lessons, conversation class and weekend trips.

I do believe I will explain the pictures and hopefuly that will give you a clearer picture of what it has been like so far. First set of pictures are of the girls apt. We have western toilets which I am thankful for, when we are sick they sure are nice. We also have caught three rats so far, we think there are more but they have not been around as much. We are thankful for our home and it is delightful. Also a couple weeks ago we had a prayer room in our apt. It was just a couple hours yet the Spirit moved. Hopefuly the first of many. Jen faithfuly doing our money stuff, it is quite the job. Here you pay for everything, most of it is cheap but it all adds up and has to be kept track of.

We were at the Taj Mahal!!! Crazy to think but it was a great day, a more expensive day then first thought but oh well, how many times will you have an oppurtunity to go to one of the wonders of the world. It is fun, people want you in their pictures and you get asked where you are from and small talk ensues. Who would have thought that we would run into another Mennonite and that they would be related to people we know!!!

Last weekend we went up to a school in the country near the foothills of the mountians, it was beautiful. We were asked to do childcare for a church retreat. We has two groups, babies and the older children. It was a great weekend of serving, learning and getting to know people from the church. This past week at conversation the level three class wanted to throw us a party and we had food and hung out. They had cake and it said "Get together with Canadian" good times. I hope to share more about how God is working in me and here in Delhi, because He is. For now I will leave this post as is. Letting you know we are alive and well (for the most part). Experiancing India, God and all that is between.

Hey Nic

I'll add to the comments that the email didn't come thru. Thanks for the pictures and update. May God continue to work in you and thru you and the team as you learn language, culture and as you minister together. All is well here in GDL - I'm here for Christmas - excited for a Mexican Christmas. I'll actually be in Peru for 2 weeks late January. Planning on meeting the TREK team there. Blessings to you my friend.
